Central Families,
All week, we have been investigating multiple FALSE threats of school violence being made by 4th and 5th grade students. One of the incidents we investigated involved students falsely accusing others of making statements of school violence. Another incident involved a student making a threat of a lock down and embellishing a story of violence about another school. This threat has been found to not be credible. In both situations, the students claimed they were "just joking." Mrs. Riccobono, Mrs. Ziel, and Officer Hammill brought down 4th and 5th classrooms to the gymnasium this morning to discuss the severity of the accusations and the effect it is having on our school culture. Please talk to your students about the seriousness of any talk of weapons or violence. We are appreciative of those students who came forward. We advised all students that if they hear or see something, they need to say something to an adult, so it can be thoroughly investigated. It is always our top priority to keep our students safe.

Hey Vulcans! Next week is our Fall Intersession- there will be no school for students or staff. Parents if you signed your student up to attend intersession make sure your students are on time. If you have any questions please contact your child's school office. Reminder Tech Center students are required to attend tech center, please be sure you are on time to catch the bus.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night's Robotics Car Smash fundraiser. As a reminder, the Car Smash will open again tonight during the big Homecoming Game. Be sure to stop by and support the Robotics program.

Are you ready for the Homecoming Parade tomorrow? We cant wait! A few reminders:
We love our community and the support they give our school, so please stay off of private property. This includes the hill behind the maintenance building.
Spectators remember bags to collect candy! Be sure to take care of any trash.
The Powderpuff game and crowning of the Homecoming King will take place after the parade, so be sure to stick around for more homecoming fun.
The Robotics Club will host a car smash fundraiser in the Townsend North parking lot tomorrow after the parade and Friday during the game. Waivers must be completed to participate.
For those worried they won't have time for dinner- don't worry! You can stop by one of the great restaurants downtown or swing into Cooks Budget Lot and grab The Pit BBQ (while supplies last) while you enjoy the parade. A concession stand run by the Band Boosters will also be available after the parade.

Central celebrated Homecoming week by wearing tie-dye today!
October 23-27, intersession sign-up forms were sent home with students. Central forms are pink, and 6-12 forms are red. If your child would benefit from participating in intersession, please ensure completed forms are returned to your child's school office by October 9.
