2023 6th-12th grade yearbooks are in! If you ordered a yearbook from last year, it can be picked up tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 8) at the Open House from 5:30-7:30 pm or in the 6-12 Office during regular business hours.


Be sure to join us for the District Open House happening tonight from 5:30-7:30! Central families, Ms. Whitney will be in the Central health room to accept medication for the upcoming school year. See you soon Vulcans!


This week is the last week to turn in your School of Choice applications for the fall 23-24 school year! School of Choice applications are being accepted until August 11 for students in grades K-12. If you know a student outside the Vassar district who would like to attend one of our great schools, please contact Stacy in the Superintendent’s office at 989-823-8535 option 1 before it's too late!

Fall Athletes! Time is running out! Practices begin Monday. Physicals must be turned in and your Final Forms MUST be complete, including the $4 insurance fee. You will not be allowed to practice unless you are green in Final Forms! Don't wait! Do it today!

We know you are starting to buy school supplies for the up coming year-- thanks to a generous donation by Goodwill we will have three pallets of school supplies available on a first come first serve basis at the District Open House on August 8. School supply lists are attached they can also be found on your school's page of our website under documents.




Attention first-year Mid-Michigan dual enrollment students! There is a mandatory orientation at the Tech Center on Monday, August 14th at 5:30 pm in Room 102. Second-year students are not required to attend. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Whitney.

Tomorrow, Monday, July 17, 2023, we welcome our summer school students back for session two! We hope you have enjoyed your time off!


The Meet Up and Eat Up summer feeding program for children 0-18 and all special needs children 0-26 is taking place for two more weeks! Join us weekdays July 17 thru July 29 at Central Elementary, where our food service program will provide breakfast and lunch free of charge. Breakfast will be served from 7:45-8:15, while lunch will be served from 11:30-12:30. Daycares, students, and non-district students may all participate but must eat on the premises.


Thank you to those who participated in the thought exchange the district shared last month! We received great feedback from our Vulcan Community. Please look at the attached letter from Superintendent Blackwell, where she provides information from that thought exchange and more information on the no-tax-rate increase bond proposal and a non-homestead operating bond proposal.
